Stock News Impact Methodology | NewsImpact

How NewsImpact verifies market headlines and evaluates ticker relevance, financial transmission, direction, materiality, confidence, uncertainty, and observed price outcomes.

Source collection and subject verification

NewsImpact collects public market-news feeds, company releases, economic releases, and other accessible sources while preserving the underlying article link. It checks whether the source directly names a company or supports a defensible peer, sector, or index relationship. Weak ticker matches are rejected.

Financial transmission and impact rating

The analysis identifies a mechanism that could affect revenue, costs, margins, cash flow, risk, valuation, positioning, or market beta. Positive and Negative describe expected pressure on the ticker. Mixed means effects offset or remain directionally unclear. Confidence reflects evidence quality, not certainty or probability of profit.

Uncertainty and outcome tracking

Each story states a key limitation and observable evidence that could strengthen or weaken the interpretation. Where quote data is available, NewsImpact records the news-time price and later 1-hour, 1-day, and 5-day observations. A prediction remains pending until a valid observation window is complete.

Limitations

Market prices move for many reasons at once. A reasonable causal interpretation can be overwhelmed by macro news, positioning, liquidity, or later disclosures. Sources can also be incomplete, delayed, corrected, or wrong. Readers should verify primary sources and make independent decisions.
